Alan Obringer

Alan is currently the President of Guardian Pharmacy of Orlando.   Prior to joining Guardian, Alan spent the last 9 years of his more than 20 years of experience in pharmacy working with the Senior Care Pharmacy in Lakeland. Alan worked in community pharmacy for CVS/pharmacy for 12 years, spending 7 years as a district pharmacy supervisor throughout the state of Florida. After his time with CVS, Alan joined Walgreens for 2 years, serving as a pharmacy manager in Pinellas County Florida.

In 2002, Alan was licensed as a consultant pharmacist and worked as an independent consultant while performing his community pharmacy duties.  Alan also holds a faculty position with the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy as an Assistant Clinical Professor, since the fall of 2002.  He currently teaches sections of several classes including Geriatrics, Introduction to Pharmacy and Healthcare Pharmacy Skills Lab and Pharmacotherapeutics.  He became a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist in 2012 and serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students, offering both a Geriatric and Long-term Care practice site.

Alan earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island.  As a member of the Florida Pharmacy Association, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, he is a strong advocate for the profession of pharmacy in long-term care and is very involved in the changes that affect our industry.  Alan’s variety of experiences and involvement in his profession make him uniquely qualified to aid our customers in producing the highest level of clinical outcomes while reducing costs for our residents.
